The Book

A shelf of small apps, each one keeping one record well.

The Book is an independent studio that makes focused apps for the parts of life that deserve a proper record: the people you are seeing, the rentals you host, the chores in your house, the money in your pocket. Each app keeps its record on your own device first, and each one is named as what it is, a book.

People and home

Records you would not keep in a shared notes app: who you are seeing and what was said, who owes the house which chore, and what you have actually been listening to for the last ten years.

Money decisions

Three tools for the moment a money decision is in front of you: which card to hand over, whether a car is priced fairly, and where the next dollar you invest should go.

Renting and hosting

Both sides of a rental: the host running turnovers and writing the house guide, and the tenant trying to get a deposit back.

Reference

Two books you consult rather than fill in: one built on decades of published lottery results, one on the rights of people who receive home and community-based services.

Lottery statistics, free to read

LottoBook publishes its archive as plain pages: one for every game it tracks and one for every state, each rebuilt from the same official results the app runs on.

What each page shows

A game page opens with the odds of every prize tier, worked out from the game's own matrix rather than quoted from a press release. Below that is how often each number has been drawn across the whole history, which numbers have gone longest without appearing, and the most recent draws in full.

Frequency is a description of the past, not a forecast. Every draw is independent, so a number that has not come up in months is exactly as likely next time as one that came up last night. The pages show how far each count sits from what chance alone would produce, and the arithmetic behind every odds figure, so anyone can check it.

Guides, free to read

The groundwork behind each Book, written up so that it is useful with no app open: how the odds are worked out, what to photograph on moving day, what a guest wants to find by the door.

How the Books are made

Your record lives with you

Wherever an app can work on one device, it does. Most of the Books open and do their whole job without an account, and what you write stays in that browser or on that phone. Sync is something you turn on when you want a second device or a second person, and in the apps that hold personal writing it is encrypted before it leaves the device.

That shape is deliberate. An app that keeps your record only on someone else's server can lose it, change the price of getting it back, or read it. A book on your own shelf cannot.

One maker, one family

The Books are designed and built by one independent developer, and they share a way of working: a calm page, a record that is quick to add to, and a clear answer to the question the app exists for. A fix found in one of them is carried to the rest.

Questions, bug reports and requests go to support@thebook.ltd, and a person reads every one.
